Vesuvius

Vesuvius is a volcano in Italy. It is famous for covering all of ancient Pompeii in ash. The eruption took place in 1794 A.D. The volcano was several feet taller then it is now. Now the volcano is 4,I90 feet (1,277 meters). Vesuvius is a active volcano. The last eruption was in 1944. Before that eruption it erupted 9 times including 1744 A.D. These eruptions were 1744 A.D., 1822,1855, 1872, 1880,1906 1929,and 1944. In 1944 the eruption blew up a whole ride that took people far down into the crator. Sadley, during the eruption one person died. Since 1944 it has been sleeping.
