By: Alexandra S.

Lassen Peak is a dormant volcano. It is located in northern California at the southern end of the Cascade Mountains. It is 10, 457 feet, or 3,187 meters. The last time that it erupted was in the 1920’s.
The volcano was named for Peter Lassen, who walked on the mountain. It also erupted several times between May 1914 and June 1917. In May 1915 it also burned the forest next to it. It is in the Lassen Volcanic National Park now.
